I used to be a matte girl but right now, I’m loving a dewy glow to my makeup look. I just think it looks so healthy and radiant – I’m living for indoor, quarantine, glowy realness. And so during this time of uncertainty, I thought I’d write a post that is hopefully going to help everyone look forward to the point at which hopefully, we can be outdoors and loving the summer sun. Here are some tips to get glow skin for summer.

Prep – Drink Plenty Of Water & Regular Sheet Masks
Before we dive into the products I use for that glowy look, I like to start with drinking plenty of water on a daily basis. I’m try to drink more throughout the day and as I’m working from home, there’s no excuse not to drink a liter of water a day. It makes such a difference to your skin when you jump from perhaps one glass of day to a liter. Not only that but regular sheet masks are a must for the health of your skin. I try to apply a face mask of some description once a week.
Primer – Figs & Rouge Glow Elixir – £34.95
One of my favourite products to use as a primer for my skin and to help give a bit of nourishment in the morning is the Figs & Rouge Glow Elixir. This delicious pink serum hydrates the skin with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins A,C & E to defend against natural moisture that’s lost in the skin. I love the natural shine and glow it leaves on my skin and it’s one I’d easily re-purchase once I’ve gone through it.

Base – NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (Shade Siberia) £33.50
For a base, I like to sparingly add a few drops of the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. I’ve made the mistake of being too heavy handed with this before and been subject to flashback on photos and looking like a ghost on many occassions. It’s a lovely foundation though and is great for using under the eyes as an alternative to concealer. I find it does the job for me when it comes to my dark and discoloured under eye area.

Highlighters – MAC Strobe Cream £25.00 & The Beauty Crop Glow Milk £16.00
I am a huge fan of liquid highlighters and anything with a pearl sheen I find really suits my skin tone – pasty white girl. One of the recent products I got was The Beauty Crop Glow Milk in the shade Just Dew It and it’s a gorgeous pearly pink. I also like to combine this with the Mac Strobe Cream in the shade Pinklite and is a similar shade but a bit of a thicker consistency but is sheerer than the Glow Milk.

Setting Sprays – Topshop Fixing Mist £10.80 & Mac Prep and Prime £21.00
When it comes to setting sprays, this can help finish off that dewy glow and I urge you to get yourself a setting spray because it helps fix your makeup in place. There are lots of different setting sprays, some tacky and others that are pretty much like a water spray but are really hydrating for the skin. I love the MAC Prep & Prime as well as the Topshop Fixing mist when I’m setting my makeup look.

And that’s my dewy makeup and skincare advice! Hopefully we’re out of this coronavirus situation eventually but hey, at least you can practice your dewy looks for the summer.
