For those of you who love a good nose of other people’s properties (me included), I really love that the majority of our home is wooden flooring. The difference it makes for the kitchen, dining room and living room space is so much more practical, I couldn’t imagine it with carpets. The difference in the colour of the carpets now in relation to how clean they were before is noticeable. As much as cream-coloured carpets look nice and aid the neutral look of the home, they’re not very good when it comes to keeping them clean.

The Benefits Of Wooden Flooring
Solid wood flooring is amazing when it comes to your property and if you get the opportunity to pick between carpets and wood in your communal living areas, go with wood. There are many benefits to having wooden flooring over carpeting. You’ve got less chance of the wood fading or going a different colour under items of furniture – something that carpets often do. With wood, you can simply wipe away any mess but with carpeting, it can be harder to lift stains from the fibers. I personally love having wooden flooring in our living space and hallway. It makes it so easy to clean and I think if I get the opportunity, I’d like to apply a varnish to the floor that will help give it a lovely shine all the time.
Thinking About Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating when it comes to wooden flooring is gorgeous. That’s the only thing that tends to be a put-off for picking between carpets and wood. Carpets will tend to be warmer, whereas wooden flooring absorbs the cold air. However, by installing underfloor heating, you remove that problem and there’s nothing like that warm feeling on your feet.
The cost of getting underfloor heating is a little pricey both to install and to run, but for the luxury of having heating right under your toes, it’s worth it. I think I’d have to find somewhere where it was either already put in or the kitchen flooring could do with a refurbish anyway.
