Creating A Dining Room Table Display

It has to be said that when we eventually move into a house, I’m going to have to be quicker at designing my home. The apartment for me is still not complete and there’s still plenty to be doing. However, nearly two years in now and I’m nearing completion of my dining room table. What I wanted to achieve with my dining room table display, is a mixture of rustic with luxury. I’ll be doing a completed version at some point down the line but for now, here’s what I’ve managed so far.

Im really happy with how it’s turned out so far and it’s definitely been a collaborative process. Let’s start with the table itself because everyone who comes to visit absolutely falls in love with the table. It’s from a company called Konk! and I really wanted to work with more independant brands and companies when furnishing my home. This was because I want to try and support local businesses where I can and they usually have more unique stuff to choose from. This table was custom-made and it’s the Waney-Börd Table. I believe it cost around £914. I got to pick the varnish that was used and could be really specific on how long it was and the width of it too. I can still remember when it arrived too and I honestly fell in love with it. It’s just a gorgeous feature piece in our home and one company I’ll definitely work with in the future when we move home. Sam also says he wants it to go in the office of the place we buy, so that office space needs to be pretty spacious…

The table runner was the first thing I got, along with the charcoal slate placemats and the coasters. I’m going to hazard a guess and say I got the table runner from John Lewis but I’m not sure where the placemats and coasters were from. They’re such a popular option for a placemat though that they’ll be plenty of options online to choose from.

The most recent purchases I got though were actually all gifts. The first is that heart charcoal plate you can see in the center of the table and that was from our friends who had stayed at our home and who we were helping out. No need for it whatsoever but it actually is perfect as a center piece even though it’s meant to be for cheese! The vase I got through Bloom & Wild as part of my subscription and I think it ties in beautifully with the plates and gold cutlery I got for Christmas. The plates I am obsessed with because it’s just the perfect amount of gold and they’ll be perfect to sit underneath the bowls that I’ll eventually get too.

As part of my checklist for my table, the few bits I have to get now are the bowls, some extra gold cutlery and some candles to go either side of the vase. I also would like to get some material I can drape over the top of my chairs, so let me know in the comments below what you’d suggest.
