I’ve had a bit of a nightmare with this foundation, I’m not going to lie. Everytime that I used it, I just ended up looking like a bright glowing orb and you don’t want to see the type of flashback that this gave me when I had photos taken. Suffice to say, this is a foundation that I had had thrust to the back of my foundation collection for the foreseeable future – until now that is. The NARS Sheer Glow Foundation has been reborn…as a concealer.

If I’m being honest, a foundation that’s used as a concealer instead is not too much of a jaw-dropping make moment because foundations are a versatile product. During this time of year, I try and be sparing with any foundation I use because I hate wearing a full face while it’s hot.

With that being said, this foundation was always a little too light for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m pale but I’m not that pale. The colouring and warmth is a little off too so all in all, its a bad choice shade wise. But when you switch it a concealer, it’s perfect. It’s a lighter shade than my complexion which means that, compared with the glow effect is perfect for using under the eye area.
That glow effect means that it helps to deflect any of the dark circles that I usually have under my eyes and it’s the one thing that I’m constantly trying to get rid of when I put on makeup. With this product, I think that a little can definitely go a long way and it’s certainly something that I would say a pump’s worth would cover, if that.
Using foundations as concealer is something that I like to also use when I don’t want to wear foundation all over my face and perhaps simply want to cover up my under eyes and whack on a bit of mascara and lipstick. This is usually what I’ll do on more relaxed days whether I’m having a good skin day or simply want to give myself a rest from wearing makeup. I’m currently suffering with a bit of a severe break out around my nose and this is always where I tend to get spots. It’s all under my nose too, which is fustrating so I’ve been trying to avoid putting any makeup on it for the time being.
You can certainly tell with the under eyes in the photo that they concealer certainly does help to brighten that area and I think it works great in contrast with any contour that I use too. I do have highlighter pens that I used under my eye to help brighten it but it’s nice to know that I have a foundation that I can use as a concealer too. Especially as I was thinking that I wouldn’t use this up and it would like expire. I hate wasting money on makeup that I have to chuck out.
The NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is £29.50 so for those who usually wear high-stree foundation, it’s a little more on the expensive side but not high-end. I think once I’ve used up this product, I’ll repurchase the NARS Concealer as that’s one that I loved using and definitely worked well for my skin tone and needs for under the eye area.
Below you can see how the product looks when swatched. It’s definitely a sheer product but I think it gives me enough coverage for what I need. Again, the flashback that this causes is insane so you might want to put a bit of translucent setting powder on it just to help dampen that shine.

Have you used the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation before? What do you think of it as being used as a concealer? Let me know in the comments below what you think and be sure to also let me know what types of concealers you use for underneath the eye area.

This has been on my Wishlist for so long now! Definitely need to get my hands on it x
It’s so good as a concealer!
Thanks for reading Lea-Mai x
I absolutely love NARS sheer glow it’s one of my all time favourites!
I love this foundation, it has been a while since I used it actually but I remember it well.
At least you’re managing to use it up as a concealer 🙂
That is so interesting, I love the Sheer Glow range and it has just the best coverage. I may give this a go because the concealer from Nars that I use has just ran out!

Oh that is such a great idea! I have a few foundations that I have been neglecting recently, so will be doing this.
I need to do this! Foundations are so expensive and it goes to waste when it doesn’t work out x

I know! I didn’t want to waste it by just chucking it so it’s worked really well as a concealer.
