One of my favourite things in the world is designer bags. They’re my vice and I plan on having a variety of designer bags in my collection. I’m a big believer in that you should spend your money on what you want to spend your money on without fear of judgement or shame. Just because someone doesn’t see designer bags as being a worthwhile expense, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t spend my money on them!
I have a couple of designer bags already from Michael Kors and Longchamp but this one was my first big spend in designer bags. The Gucci GG Marmont Zip Around Shoulder Bag has been on my bucket list of designer bags to buy and I finally got my hands on it a couple of years ago for my 29th birthday.
Isn’t she just beautiful? I wanted my first bag to be brand emblazoned because who doesn’t want to show off their new baby in the best way?!
Priced at £975.00, the GG Marmont Zip Around Shoulder Bag is the perfect size and a versatile bag to wear both during the day and at night. I wanted something that was functional and that could carry all of the essentials that I would need when going out, whether it was a meal with friends or visiting family.
The outside is cushioned with the iconic GG lettering and this big gold hardware GG is found front and center. The gold hardware is what I love and really helps the bag stand out. The zip is strong and a little rigid to begin with due to it being a new bag. However, it loosens slightly but stays durable, meaning I’m not worried about it ripping or becoming damaged,
The gold hardware has certainly lasted and although there are very minor scuffs to the GG hardware, it’s not noticeable at all. I think it’s important that for bags like these, they deserve to be used – not shoved in a fabric bag in the back of a cupboard and only bought out once in a blue moon.
As it’s a smaller bag in comparison to some of the options found on the Gucci site, the shoulder strap comes in handy and is adjustable depending on how low or high you want it to sit. The black shoulder strap, combined with the black leather around the bag, gives it definition and compliments the gold hardware and beige fabric so beautifully. I just love everything about the Gucci GG Marmont Bag.
The dust bag is an absolute must when it comes to designer bags like this in order to keep them in the best condition. Ultimately, I want to have a dressing room with shelving where I can show off the bags while storing them upright and without getting them scuffed with other bags. However, in the meantime, the dust bag is a great alternative to keep it safe.
I’m absolutely in love with this bag and it’s become my go-to bag for everyday wear. Due to the black and gold hardware, it goes with most outfits. I recently got another Gucci bag, which I’ll be sharing on this blog too and I think it is probably a great option for evenings and for those outfits that require something a little bit more subtle.
