It’s nice to be able to renovate your home when it needs it, but when was the last time you took a look at exactly what your house needed? Did you last upgrade the kitchen or was it the bathroom? Did you recarpet the hallway or was it the lounge? One space that you could use to upgrade your home is a Conservatory. Over the winter months especially, getting these upgrades done means that you have something to look forward to when the sun starts shining in the summer.

Your conservatory is supposed to be a space where you can sit back and relax and really enjoy the natural light streaming in. It’s an extension of the home and With the help of UPVC windows and decent insulation, you can make sure that despite all of the new Windows, your conservatories are a warm place for you to sit.
There are so many ways that you can update your Conservatory, and so we’ve got some suggestions for you below so that you can upgrade your current one without having to tear it down first.
- Install a heating system. If you don’t yet have radiators or any kind of heating system in your Conservatory, then it’s time to install one. You want to give it a modern touch and depending on the size and the layout of the Conservatory, there are different types of heating systems that can be installed. Electric radiators are great, but underfloor heating is a great way to keep your feet warm in the winter.
- Replace those windows. We already mentioned upgrading to PVC windows, but it’s a smart idea. Single-pane conservative windows can make your Conservatory a very cold place to sit. You want to choose something that offers energy efficiency and allows plenty of natural light to enter into the space. Replacing the windows is going to help you to do that and do it quickly.
- Work to repair any damages. If you have any damage happening in your Conservatory right now, such as cracks or leaks that are causing damp or cold air to flood in, then repairing the damage now before the summer is important. Poor weather conditions can cause damage such as broken windows or leaking roofs, but you can attend to these and stop them from becoming a much larger issue.
- Make sure to insulate the walls. Conservatories aren’t particularly well insulated, but you can add insulation to improve its usability. You’ll keep the conservatory warm in the winter as well as keeping it comfortable and cool in the summer. If you wrap the walls and insulation material you’ll also really reduce your energy costs which in a cost-of-living crisis, can help.
Your Conservatory is supposed to be an added space for you to be able to relax and unwind. You should think about making sure that you do these upgrades as soon as you possibly can when you can afford them.
