Laura Mercier | Loose Setting Powder

There are a few beauty staples that I think I will forever re-purchase unless, by some chance, I come across something even better. The Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder is one of those products and I think this might be my 4th or 5th one to date. I first bought it when I was 21 years old from Sephora while visiting New York with my mum.

I wouldn’t really dream of not wearing setting powder nowadays unless I was purposely wanting to go for a dewy makeup look. I’ve also been a fan of matte makeup, whether it’s using a setting powder to reduce the shine of foundation or matte lipsticks. I just think it gives you that airbrushed appearance and I love it. What I love about this setting powder is that it’s something that is perfect for my skin tone. It’s a nice warm powder that doesn’t have any payback when I get my photos taken with a flash and that for me is the biggest benefit. It helps give the area under my eyes a bit of a shine but one that’s subtle without being too over the top.

Interestingly, I’ve not tried any of the other Laura Mercier products, and seeing as I’m such a big fan of this loose setting powder, you’d think I would have explored the brand a little bit more but perhaps I’ll save that request until my birthday later this year.

The loose setting powder comes in a generous size and I find that the setting powder, although I don’t use every day, will certainly last me 4-6 months. If I used it every day, I would say it wouldn’t last as long but I only really use it sparingly on my face and mostly under my eyes.

The powder is £32.00, which can likely seem a bit on the pricier side for some but when it comes to cult favourites, this beauty product is one that I would buy again and again, regardless of the price. It just performs so well and is a great way of finishing off my look.
